All visits to Edinburgh Castle must be booked in advance to guarantee entry. Official Guided Tour tickets include admissions to the castle and a 30 minute guided tour in English. Please choose a tour time.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour start time. The Tour Meeting Point is across the drawbridge and to the right.
The tour takes place outdoors and requires visitors to walk on steep and cobbled walkways.
Please note, from Monday 12 January to April 2026, the Crown Room at the castle will be temporarily closed.
This is to allow for the refurbishment of the vault and the creation of a new display for the Honours of Scotland. This work follows the relocation of the Stone of Destiny to Perth Museum and marks a significant moment in the evolving story of Scotland’s national treasures.
During this period, the Honours will not be on public display.
